Ramadan the most religious month of the year in Islam.
Ramadan is acclaimed as the month during which Muhammad ( peace be upon him) received the initial prophecies of the Quran, the Holy book for Muslims.
Muslims fast in Ramadan in Sehri’ or ‘Suhoor’, the pre-dawn meal eaten before the Fajr prayer. Other deeds of worship such as prayer, reading the Quran, and charity are also performed during the holy month. Ramadan teaches us to practice self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, and humanity for those who are needy, empathize with people in our circle, feed the needy People, distribute compulsory Charity (zakat). In Ramadan, parents encourage their children to perform good deeds, tell them about our Islam, teach salah (namaz).
Ramadan is a month of blessings for every Muslim. In Ramadan, we can generate our book of good deeds,
- Learn new dua
- Teach one good deed to your child
- Avoid backbiting and gossiping
- Give sadqa, perform nawafil
- Perform missed prayers
- Read Surah Yaseen
- Give up on one bad deed
- Participate in preparing a good meal
- Tell people about the beauty of Islam
- Perform salat-ut-tasbee
- Spend the night in prayers
- Revised Surahs
- Complete Holy Quran
- Give sadqa-al-fitar
So let’s make this Ramadan memorable one for us 🙂
